Two new models have been released, featuring Mount Iwate, located in the region where mechanical watches are manufactured, as the dial motif.

From the Evolution 9 Collection, we will be releasing a model equipped with the Caliber 9SC5, a high-beat chronograph movement that vibrates 10 times per second, and whose dial depicts Mount Iwate, capped with fresh snow that seems to blend into the clear blue sky of the depths of winter, with a faint blue hue.

Based On The Design Grammar "Evolution 9 Style," This Design Expresses The Majestic Presence Of Mount Iwate In Winter.

SLGC007

Nature, which changes its appearance in various ways throughout the changing seasons, symbolizes the Japanese aesthetic that Grand Seiko cherishes. Mount Iwate, as viewed from Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, the manufacturer of Grand Seiko's mechanical watches, shows a beautiful expression in each season. The dial is inspired by Mount Iwate in the depths of winter, with the pale blue of the fresh snow represented by snow blue and the mountain slopes visible from beneath represented by a black dial color.

The Evolution 9 style offers exceptional legibility. The distance between the hands and indices, and between the hands and the dial, has been minimized, allowing for instant time reading even on a chronograph with a lot of information displayed. To maximize the legibility of the sub-dials while still accommodating 12 indices, the date display is positioned between 4 and 5 o'clock.

Mechanical Chronograph Movement "Tentagraph"

The name TENTAGRAPH is derived from the characteristics of the Caliber 9SC5: "TEN beat (10 vibrations)", "Three days (power reserve)", "Automatic (self-winding)", and "ChronoGRAPH".

Equipped with the Caliber 9SC5, a high-beat chronograph movement with 10 vibrations per second that symbolizes the next generation of Grand Seiko, it achieves the world's longest power reserve for a mechanical chronograph, approximately 72 hours (about 3 days) when fully wound.

A Mechanical Watch With An Elegant, Pale Purple Appearance.

SBGW323

The paulownia tree, designated as the prefectural flower of Iwate Prefecture, is said to have originated when the Nanbu family, who later became the lords of the Morioka domain during the Ashikaga era, transplanted seedlings from Yamato Province. It is beloved as the "purple paulownia of Nanbu" because of its pale purple flowers that adorn the spring. This model features the "Mt. Iwate pattern," which delicately reproduces the slopes of Mt. Iwate as seen from the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, the manufacturing site of mechanical Grand Seiko watches, and is colored with a pale, beautiful purple inspired by the "purple paulownia of Nanbu."

The movement features the hand-wound mechanical "Caliber 9S64," which boasts a power reserve of approximately 72 hours (about 3 days) when fully wound. Because the torque decreases gradually as the mainspring unwinds, it achieves stable accuracy. Furthermore, by integrating the gear train bridge and covering the movement, it achieves a stable, unified, and beautiful appearance characteristic of hand-wound movements.
