Introducing the Grand Seiko model with a light blue dial.

The dial, which can be considered the face of a wristwatch, comes in a wide variety of colors.

Among them, light blue watches, with their appealing transparency, have been particularly eye-catching in recent years. The impression of a watch changes greatly depending on the color of the dial, but light blue watches possess both elegance and grace, and their clear hue gives a sophisticated impression, subtly exuding a strong presence. They can be coordinated with a wide range of outfits, from everyday wear to special occasions.

This time, I'd like to introduce some recommended Grand Seiko watches in light blue.

② Choose By Band

Grand Seiko watches come in two types: metal bands and leather bands.

Metal bands offer versatility, making them suitable for a wide range of occasions, from sports to business. They are also highly durable, resistant to sweat and water, and less prone to deterioration . To ensure longer use, we recommend wiping off any water or dirt promptly with a soft cloth.

Leather bands offer a sophisticated look, making them perfect for business and formal occasions. They are also soft and comfortable against the skin. Furthermore, their lightweight design means they are less tiring to wear for extended periods.

Many Grand Seiko leather watches feature a triple-fold buckle, which is less likely to damage the leather's holes, allowing them to be used for longer periods than typical leather straps.

③ Choose By Drive System

Grand Seiko offers three types of movement systems: mechanical, quartz, and Spring Drive.

In mechanical watches, the precision of the movement depends on the accuracy of the approximately 200 parts that make up the movement. This is why both the parts manufacturing technology and the processing skills of the craftsmen are put to the test. At Grand Seiko, we create unique, high-quality mechanical movements by combining cutting-edge technologies such as MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems), which maximize the processing precision of the parts, with the meticulous work of skilled craftsmen.

To surpass quartz technology, Grand Seiko created the 9F quartz movement. The 9F quartz movement uses a battery as its power source to make a quartz oscillator vibrate 32,768 times per second, thus keeping time. Because quartz watches have less torque than mechanical watches, they cannot move thick, heavy hands, so generally thin hands are used.

However, Grand Seiko's 9F quartz movement employs an original twin-pulse control motor technology, which allows it to use thick, imposing hands.

And then there's the third heart of Grand Seiko, the Spring Drive. It uses a mainspring to rotate a rotor, converting its kinetic energy into electrical energy, and using that small amount of generated power to drive a quartz oscillator. It's a unique innovation in the world, fusing the mechanisms of mechanical and quartz watches, something that watchmakers around the world have dreamed of but could never realize.
