From March 16th (Thursday) to May 8th (Monday), customers who purchase items totaling 1 million yen or more (including tax) will receive an original watch stand as a gift.
The watch stand is made from natural wood, specifically magnolia wood from Iwate Prefecture, and each one is hand-painted by an Aizu lacquerware craftsman. After the lacquering, a mixture of charcoal and tin powder is sprinkled on top, creating a texture reminiscent of a shibuichi alloy, and each stand has its own unique character. The Grand Seiko logo is stamped with lacquer, and pure silver powder is sprinkled on top, carefully timing it with the lacquer's hardening due to humidity in the air. You can enjoy the aging process as the silver changes from a silvery color to a tarnished silver due to a reaction with sulfur in the air.
The exquisite lacquering and maki-e techniques beautifully enhance the polished case of the Grand Seiko watch displayed on it.
