The Case Form Is Based On The Majestic And Dignified Presence Of A Lion, While Also Possessing A Strong Sense Of Challenge And Adventure.

Inspired by the powerful claws of a lion, the design features a bold form that appears as if a block of metal has been carved away, while also creating the impression that the lion is firmly gripping the arm. Furthermore, the hairline finish, which further accentuates the metallic texture, emphasizes the sharpness of the claws and serves as a striking accent to the case's form.
The case is made of Brilliant Hard Titanium (*1), a Grand Seiko original advanced material that is approximately twice as hard as stainless steel.
The dial features an organic pattern inspired by the image of a lion's mane fluttering in the wind, a design befitting the Japanese word "Fūbi" (風靡), meaning "wind-blown" or "showy." Furthermore, the three sub-dials at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions utilize separate parts, resulting in a diverse and varied appearance. Another feature is that, due to the bowl-shaped sub-dials, the distance between the hands and the scale is close, making it easy to read the measurement results.
The stopwatch function's push button has been updated with a robust form that prioritizes a satisfying feel, ensuring reliable operation.
A Comfortable And Subtly Uplifting Rubber Strap.
We have developed a new rubber strap that boasts more than twice the tensile strength of silicone straps (compared to our previous models), making it perfectly suited to the robust design of the case. This strap has a smooth texture, and the somewhat endearing protrusions on the back, reminiscent of a lion's paw, comfortably rest on the wrist.
The gently curved case back and inward-curving buckle, combined with this rubber strap, create an unparalleled level of comfort.
Equipped With The "Tentagraph," A Signature Automatic Chronograph Movement Of Grand Seiko.
The Caliber 9SC5 "Tentagraph" featured in the SLGC009 was developed in 2023, based on the innovative high-beat Caliber 9SA5, which was announced in 2020 and boasts high precision and excellent energy efficiency. It offers stable accuracy with 10 vibrations per second and a long power reserve that guarantees up to approximately 3 days (approximately 72 hours) of operation even when the chronograph is running. Supporting this performance is the "Dual Impulse Escapement (*2)," which dramatically improves transmission efficiency. This innovative mechanism, in conjunction with the twin barrels (two mainsprings), achieves a long power reserve despite having 10 vibrations per second.
