What Is The Spring Drive Movement "Caliber 9R"?
The 9R Spring Drive is a Grand Seiko-exclusive movement that uses the torque generated by the unwinding force of a mechanical watch's mainspring as its power source, while incorporating a completely new quartz regulating mechanism that precisely controls accuracy using an IC and a quartz oscillator. Ittook more than 20 years to develop from its initial conception, and another 5 years to achieve performance worthy of the Grand Seiko name before finally being launched in 2004.
A Hand-Wound Spring Drive Model That Captures The Image Of The Rising Sun Illuminating The Autumn Hodaka Mountain Range.
SBGY035
The Hodaka mountain range, shrouded in the stillness of night, is illuminated by the morning sun, its outline clearly emerging and revealing its beautiful autumn foliage. This scene is expressed through a gradient dial. The Hodaka mountain range has a rocky surface that looks as if it has been carved out, and the dial is adorned with an organic, stamped pattern that resembles its majestic mountain face.
Equipped With A Slim, Hand-Wound Movement.
Equipped with the Caliber "9R31," which features a dual-spring barrel mechanism using two mainsprings within a single barrel, providing a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, it achieves a slim case thickness of 10.2 mm.
The case, which combines the sharp lines and beautiful curves characteristic of Grand Seiko, and the combination with the reddish-brown crocodile strap create a design that is easy to wear even in formal settings.
A Limited Edition Model Featuring A Depiction Of The Rising Sun Illuminating The Hotaka Mountain Range In Autumn.
SBGA499
Aiming for an elegant classic style, it features a gently curved dual-curve sapphire crystal, softly flowing lugs with delicate Zaratsu polishing, and three-dimensional hour and minute hands with diamond cuts. The vibrant red dial represents the way the Hotaka mountain range shines even brighter as the sun rises at dawn.
Furthermore, the pink gold-colored GS logo, the three-dimensional power reserve indicator adorned in salmon pink, and the striking red of the dial are reminiscent of the colorful autumn leaves that herald the arrival of autumn in the Hotaka mountain range.
